About us

We believe that a healthy workplace is one where emotional and social intelligence guide collaboration, prevent dysfunction, and help teams do their best work.

There’s a saying in psychotherapy:

Systems and people break, but the repair becomes the gold glue holding them together.

This comes from the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, making it stronger and more beautiful.

Using relational mapping, EMDR, and CAT, we help teams find that glue within themselves and each other to co-regulate, co-create, and move from surviving to thriving.

We approach team wellbeing therapy
through a relationship lens

We help teams work better by strengthening relationships with themselves, each other, and their workplace systems.

Meet the team

We are Dr Siobain Bonfield and Johnny Kieran, relational thinkers with a combined 40+ years in mental health settings.

We’ve been in high-pressure environments. We’ve seen how difficult team dynamics can be. And we know that with the right support, teams can shift from conflict to connection and tension to trust.

By blending our unique expertise — Siobain focuses on relationship patterns and team support, while Johnny specialises in diversity and team dynamics — we deliver comprehensive workplace wellbeing support.

Dr. Siobain Bonfield

(she/her)

Siobain is passionate about creating relational awareness from the grassroots and supporting people from trauma backgrounds, bringing both clinical expertise and real-world insight to her work.

Growing up in a London pub as an Irish girl, she gained early experience holding space for community, surrounded by diverse and eccentric people — a skill she carries into her work today.

Known for her ability to hold complexity while making others feel safe and understood, Siobain helps teams navigate through even the most difficult situations.

Johnny Kieran

(he/him/they/them)

Johnny came into this work through clinical social work settings, which taught him to think about systems and their impact on people. After experiencing burnout while working in mental health settings, he was drawn to CAT and relational thinking.

His own experiences of working within the LGBTQIA+ community, with a special interest in neurodivergence, have given him a first-hand understanding of how systems can struggle to adapt to the wide skillset diversity within a cohort of staff.

A fun fact: Johnny used to have four fish tanks, each carefully balanced to support diverse species with different, yet equally important roles. That early fascination with ecosystems and community has stayed with him, shaping his approach to team dynamics.

How we work

Our approach is designed to improve the way team members or colleagues understand and support one another, helping to create more cohesive, engaged teams.

Relational intelligence

Rather than target individual behaviour, we look at relationships, helping people understand the interplay between the individual, the team, and the organisation.

Relational mapping

We deepen reflective practices with mapping techniques so that team members can foster a greater understanding of their challenges and patterns.

Combined modalities

We integrate evidence-based approaches (including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing and Cognitive Analytic Therapy) to address both immediate distress and longer-term relationship dynamics within teams.

Dialogic approach

We prefer collaborative conversations over monologues and diagnoses. We encourage participants to engage in the process and come to their own conclusions through shared understanding.

Supportive spaces

We hold a non-judgmental, supportive, and structured space where people feel safe to express their concerns and vulnerabilities.

Our
Values

Dialogue over diagnosis

Instead of telling people what’s wrong, we work with them through space-holding and negotiation. Our work is collaborative, never hierarchical.

All voices matter

We stand for fairness and dignity, creating spaces where people are heard, valued, and understood without fear of being dismissed or diminished.

Finding the middle ground

Let’s replace binaries with balance. We help people step out of limiting roles and find the middle ground in each relational dance.

Negotiate with kindness

We value being gentle and respectful while also holding firm boundaries and speaking truth when needed.

Ready to work with us?

Based in Melbourne and Sydney, we serve teams nationwide with both in-person and virtual options. If you’re ready to create more connected, engaged teams, let’s talk.

Diversity and Inclusion Statement:

We stand for fairness and dignity, creating spaces where people of all cultures, abilities, gender identities, sexualities, and neurotypes are heard, valued, and understood without fear of being dismissed or diminished.

Acknowledgment of Country:

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and celebrate the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their ongoing cultures and connections to the lands and waters of Australia.
